We like to keep things pretty relaxed here, but then again remember that this isn't a general discussion board for gossip. Here are the basics to keep in mind:
(1) Above all else, this board is for CFI installers, operating in a professional manner. While we encourage off-topic discussion in the Free Coffee area, please keep things on topic in all other boards.
(2) Be professional. Mind your manners, don't use offensive language, make sure you wouldn't mind showing all of your posts to your grandmother, etc. Common sense is desired here.
(3) Be yourself. We encourage (although we don't require) that users register using their first and last names, and behave as though they were representing themselves professionally. Make sure to keep this in mind when posting, even if you choose to use a username that doesn't reflect your real name.
(4) As you may have noticed, the spam fairy (and her evil twin, the porn fairy) took over the last board, and with a sudden surge of activity we were forced to shut it down. In an attempt to combat this, we've made several changes this time around.
Notably: Images are now disabled in posts for regular users. Experts that we've already identified as such are able to post images, and if you need the ability to do so otherwise feel free to send me an email and I'll gladly turn them on for you. Not having them for everyone (at least, not until needed) should effectively combat spam fairy number two. Aside from that, I'll be moderating much more frequently, and we may recruit others to help out.
(5) Have fun. Remember, not everyone here is fully qualified yet, so make sure to share your expertise with those who are less informed. The whole mission of CFI is to bring everyone to a qualified professional level, and if we were all already experts then there would be no point to it. ^_^
I may edit or amend this as I observe the posting behavior on the board. As a note: I (Spyder) am the web administrator on the boards, nothing more. Do not expect me to know the answer to flooring questions, I promise I'm only educated in the ways of the geek. I'll do my best to keep the place clean and running smoothly, so do let me know if something seems amiss. Also, feel free to reply to this thread if you feel any changes should be made to the general rules, and we'll take things into consideration.
